The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF) is thrilled to be returning to El Salvador, a country where deforestation and soil erosion has had serious environmental, social, and economic impacts.
The rural population here is most greatly affected, with nearly one million Salvadorans living in poverty and over 50% of El Salvador's land unsuitable for food cultivation. This year continue our work in an extremely vulnerable area of the world. Volunteers will join a small delegation working under FTPF's direction to help plant the orchards, work with students, distribute trees to families, and set up projects. This will involve hard work, along with an invaluable opportunity to interact intimately with the local communities and surroundings.
