The Agricultural Census performed by the INE revealed that while orange production is higher than other citrus fruits, the acreage devoted to this fruit is smaller than that devoted to tangerines.

The census also revealed that the country has an area of 51,211 hectares devoted to citrus, 48.7% of which are devoted to tangerines, followed by orange with 42.2%, lime with 6.5%, lemons with 1.8%, and grapefruit with 0.8%.
According to the 2013 Agricultural Census there are 3,158,246 citrus trees scattered in the country: 1,218,460 orange trees; 1,148,316 tangerines trees; 302,643 lime trees; 280,174 lemons trees, and 208 653 grapefruit trees.
In Bolivia there are 43,568 Agricultural Production Units (WCU) that have at least one citrus crop. Cochabamba is the department with the highest number of UPA with 17,727; followed by La Paz with 13,809 and Santa Cruz with 6,684.
